U19s PROGRESS IN YOUTH CUP

12 NOVEMBER 2007

The Saints Under 19 side made it through to the 4th round of the SFA Youth Cup yesterday thanks to a penalty kick shoot-out win over Stenhousemuir.

The visitors had the best of the first half and led at half-time but the Saints lads were much improved after the interval and a Jonathon Fairbairn goal made it 1-1 which is how it stood at the end of the 90 minutes and indeed after extra time.

So for the second successive round the boys went into a penalty shoot-out and after both sides netted their first four penalties it went to sudden death where our lads eventually emerged victorious.
