BIG WIN FOR UNDER 19s
3 SEPTEMBER 2007
The Saints Under 19s enjoyed their best result of the season so far yesterday when they defeated Arbroath 5-1 at McDiarmid Park.
The game was a personal triumph for Neil McCallum (pictured) who netted four of the five goals – Bobby Barr was the other scorer.
Youth Development Manager Tommy Campbell said “It was their best display for some time. We were 2-0 up after 25 minutes and then lost a silly goal but we took control after that and deserved the win. Young Danny Graham came on at half-time and helped to sway things our way.”
SAINTS: O’Brien, Smythe, Wilcox, Fairbairn, Liddle, Taylor, Kelly, Barr, McCallum, Flynn, Kerr.
Subs: Barrett, Graham
The Under 16s lost to Clyde by the odd goal in five with Johnny Bee and Kevin Robson on the score sheet for Saints.
SAINTS: Winslow, Quinn, Dod, Breslin, Small, Elder, Lochhead, Bee, Deuchars, May, Robson.
Subs: Murdoch, Smith, Duffy
The Under 15s fixture against Queen of the South was called off at the request of the Dumfries club.
