ALL THREE TEAMS IN ACTION
20 AUGUST 2007
The two younger Saints youth teams got their seasons underway yesterday and both emerged victorious in their respective games.
Pride of place went to the Under 15s who played host to Elgin City and defeated their guests 9-0. Star of the show was Connor Dady who netted four times while there were also goals for Michael Stewart, Jake Mitchell, Chris Neil and Chris Scott (2).
The Under 16s also won their opening fixture – perhaps in less spectacular style but no less credit-worthy as the lads were 4-1 down with half and hour to play against Queen of the South and they fought back to win 5-4! Goalscorers were Chris Dod, Chris Jeremy and a hat trick from Johnny Bee.
Finally, the Under 19s played their second game of the season yesterday when they met Dunfermline Athletic in Perth and the game finished 2-2. The Fifers led twice during the game but Saints fought back on both occasions to take a share of the points, first through a trialist and then a last minute goal from Kevin Moon (pictured). The boys had to play the final twenty minutes of the game with ten men following the dismissal of striker Neil McCallum.
