Owen Coyle had attempted to bring 19 year old Jamie McCluskey on loan to Saints on a couple of occasions during 2006/2007 before finally landing him on a one year deal in June 2007.
McCluskey opted not to extend his stay with Hibs, despite an offer from the Edinburgh club to do so. He made SPL history when at the age of only 16 years and 79 days old when he stepped from the bench against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on January 24, 2004 to become the youngest player to appear in the SPL.
Former Hibs boss Tony Mowbray brought Jamie to the edge of the first team scene but the arrival of John Collins at Easter Road brought a change in his fortunes and he found himself playing reserve team football.
Jamie spent the opening half of this season on the fringes of first team action but then received a setback in early December when he broke a bone in his foot in a training ground accident and he remained sidelined until February and must now try and make an impression on first team affairs.
